Rt. Hon Jack Mc Connell was in Nepal for a three-day visit. During his visit he met a cross section of civil society, a wide range of political leaders, and international donors in Kathmandu. We are grateful for his visit to Mitrata Nepal despite his busy schedules.
During Rt Hon McConnell’s visit, he inquired about organization’s operations and management and observed our site and infrastructures. Mitrata children held various musical and dance programs for Rt. Hon McConnell. He was absolutely amazed and delighted by the fabulous performance of our children.
Rt. Hon McConnell was very affectionate towards all the Mitrata children, especially our youngest lovely 2 years old Bikram Buda Magar. He was very touched by the story of Bikram and his 4 siblings.
A year ago, Bikram’s father had passed away and his mentally unstable mother went missing. Their heart touching story was published in “Kantipur” daily newspaper. We immediately travelled to Baglung to rescue these children and brought them to Mitrata home. His entire siblings got a new beginning in Mitrata’s loving and caring family home where they are getting a good education and leading happy lives.
We would like to thank and show our deepest appreciation to the Rt. Honorable Jack McConnell for his kind presence and giving us his valuable guidance and support to see Mitrata Nepal as a center of excellence to help and support the underprivileged children in Nepal.
